About the Presidents' Day TournamentMinimize

Presidents' Day Tournament 2008 Summary

The Presidents Day Tournament Committee would like to thank government officials from the City of Phoenix and City of Mesa, the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau, all of our tournament coordinators and volunteers, referees and participating teams for helping to make the 2008 PDT one of the best ever. In particular, we would like to thank everyone who contributed to overcoming the surprise downpours in the East Valley on Friday that closed one of our venues with no advance notice. In total, 166 matches were rescheduled on Saturday and Sunday, with 72 of those being moved to new venues as well. A total of 92 teams were affected by these changes, as were numerous city and tournament officials, volunteers and referees. But in the end, every match was played. What a great team effort it was! Thanks to all for your patience and your efforts to help pull this off.

If development stays on schedule, Reach 11 will have an additional eight fields next year, bringing the complex to 18. This will allow us to consolidate and centralize the tournament within a much smaller geographic area. The quality of our fields continues to improve and the overall excitement of playing on the state of the art soccer complex will be available to more of our tournament next year. Please join us again February 13-16, 2009!

Sincerely,

Rex Coldren, Tournament Director

Survey Winner

We would like to thank to all the teams who completed our tournament survey. As you know we put all the teams that completed and returned the survey into a large box and drew out a winner. Congratulations to the U12 Girls NYSA Fury ’96 Green team from Oklahoma. They have won a free entry into the 2009 Presidents' Day Tournament.
