SC del Sol has been invited to participate in the National Premier League. The NPL has been created to provide a unified, league-based national developmental platform with the highest level of competition in given geographic areas, and to elevate and change the competitive the youth soccer landscape. The NPL extends developmental principals espoused by the U.S. Soccer Development Academy into younger age groups and additional clubs, providing an environment for long-term player development.
It allows our players to compete against the country’s top soccer clubs allowing for consistent and meaningful high level games. The NPL scouting and ID program will expose SC del Sol players to the US National Staff and its Technical Advisors.
The culminating event each year is the NPL Champions Cup, where national championships will be awarded. The NPL Champions Cup will feature qualifiers from every NPL across the country in a true “champions league” competition.
At the moment there are 15 National Premier Leagues across the country. SC del Sol will take its place alongside national powerhouses such as the Dallas Texans (TXS), Albion SC (CA), CASL (NC), FC Delco (PA) and PDA (NJ).
Pete Leebrook, Boys Technical Director:
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our players to compete against some of the best players and clubs in the US. It is another step in the right direction for SC del Sol and confirmation again that we are doing things the right way. As always, our focus is on the development of every single player in the club. The NPL, along with the WCDA, provides us with another elite environment that will challenge and grow our boys’ side.”
