We need qualified referees for our tournament! If you want to referee in the Desert Classic or Presidents’ Day Tournament (PDT), go to the PDT Referees page some time in late November/December for further information.

Referee Certification

The Arizona State Referee Association conducts referee certification programs throughout the state of Arizona. You must be a certified referee in order to officiate for SC del Sol. We would like to invite all interested players (age 12 and older), parents, and coaches to complete either the Grade 9 or Grade 8 referee certification. Not only can you make good money working as a referee, but you will gain a much better appreciation for the game, and help out your club!

Grade 9 Referee Certification

The Grade 9 Recreational Referee is certified to work as an Assistant Referee (AR, formerly known as a linesman) on all U14 and younger games plus is certified to work as a Center Referee for all youth recreational games.

Grade 8 Referee Certification

The Grade 8 Referee is certified to work as either an Assistant Referee or a Center Referee on all youth soccer games (both recreational or competitive). We are in great need of soccer-knowledgeable, physically-fit adults interested in working the older youth soccer games. This is an excellent job for a college student who is available during the day on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays.

Grade 8 and 9 Re-Certification

All existing referees must re-certify annually. Phoenix-area classes for the 2007–2008 season will be held at the ASU Downtown Campus at 502 E. Monroe Street, Phoenix.  Go to for the latest news and registration information.
